Hudson Ferry portfolio company Laguna Tools completes add-on acquisition
RYE BROOK, NY, September 20, 2017 - Hudson Ferry Capital announced that its portfolio company, Laguna Tools, Inc. ("Laguna"), based in Irvine, California, has completed the acquisition of St. Joseph Tools, LLC d/b/a SuperMax Tools (“SuperMax”). Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, SuperMax designs and sells award winning drum, brush and combo sanders for the woodworking and metalworking industries. SuperMax also sells sander accessories such as dust collectors, abrasives and brushes.
“The acquisition of SuperMax will add products that are highly complementary to our product lineup,” said Torben Helshoj, founder and CEO of Laguna. “SuperMax’s brush and drum sanders are best-in-class and we look forward to showing our customers our expanded line of superior woodworking and metalworking equipment.”
“SuperMax is a great fit for Laguna. Cost reductions will be implemented immediately and there are significant opportunities to cross-sell products to the newly combined customer base,” said Bruce Robertson, Partner at Hudson Ferry Capital. “We are excited about the combination of Laguna and SuperMax and will continue to seek acquisition opportunities.”
Hudson Ferry Capital completed its investment in Laguna on March 31, 2016.
